I listened to the music of the night wind in the pines.
I’ve seen the quiet splendor of a field of columbine.
I skied on crystal pathways to a mountain peak so tall,
and I walked the mighty summits with the one who made it all.

Love columbine, great picture!!
Breckenridge is truely a gorgeous place to visit in the summer!
Karen,
Believe it or not I’ve been singing a John Denver song all morning. Lovely to run into his lyrics here. He captured simple beauty in his best songs, just like you did with this photo. Just beautiful!
Regards,
Kelly
@Steph,
I have to agree– I’ve been to Breckenridge twice during the summer and it is just beautiful there. My next goal is to go there and ski with my kids.
@Kelly,
Which song have you been singing this morning? I usually write with his music playing. 🙂
Karen,
“Leavin’ on a Jet Plane.” Though after I stopped in here, it was like there was a John Denver playlist in my head. My parents had all his albums, and the records are all spinning in my head now.
My favorite is probably “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” There’s a Christmas song that he wrote for his son Zachary that kills me, too. Sniffle, sniffle.
Until later,
Kelly
Columbine is one of my favorite flowers. The colors are just gorgeous. Great shot!

John Denver… What a guy. Incredible lyrics, lovely music, and a genuine soul.

I looked at the video on the Olympic’s ceremoney dancers on your other site. Wow! Simply amazing. They look like a kaleidocope, seriously.
