700 years.
That’s how long it takes for one plastic water bottle to decompose in a landfill.
700 years.
In America, we used 50 billion water bottles in one year, according to Bottled Water Facts.
Holy freaking moly.
For years, I used a stainless steel water bottle after ditching the plastic stuff off my shelves. I didn’t really like drinking out of steel bottles but it was better than drinking out of warm plastic while barefoot water skiing on a hot day. Then I discovered Ello Water Bottles. I purchased my first one at Target and immediately fell in love with the product. Water from a glass bottle TASTES like water. It’s not contaminated with BPA like some plastic water bottles.
Because I professed my love so blantantly via social media–sharing pictures of my bottle with everyone I could, the company sent me a whole box of Ello glass bottles last year. It was like Christmas in July–a rainbow of glass bottles. Now I could match my water bottle with my outfit of the day.
I have no apprehensions about taking my Ello bottles on a boat. The silicone covering does a great job of protecting the thick glass even when dropped. I even tested the bottle while barefoot water skiing (thanks to my friend Tom Hart) and the Ello Product survived a 42-mph crash. Plus, it floated.
Because I love these glass water bottles so darn much, the Ello Products company is letting me GIVE AWAY a Zulu water bottle so you can drink with me this summer. Yes, you can pick your color!

I love iced green tea with lemon.
Fill it up with ice, lemon and water or if I’m feeling a little crazy, I fill it up with ice, frozen pineapple pieces and water and YUM!
A really GOOD IPA, ( a good one will still taste great when its tepid and will have a great “grapefruity” aftertaste.) Since I haven’t been eating gluten for a few weeks I’m missing it! What? You said ANYTHING!! LOL
Oh, and I want to know HOW they know it takes 700 years for a plastic water bottle to decompose. Was plastic invented then? Is someone still around that was alive back then?? I’m not refuting that it takes a LOooooong time for plastic to decompose….effectively FOREVER!! But 700 years??? How do they figure these things out?!
I love a cup of coffee in the morning. Then spring water from my home the rest of the day.
Iced green tea, infused with peach or mango.
pure ice tea with ice in a water bottle that doesn’t leak! I need an Ello water bottle in a happy color!
My favorite drink IS water… Closely followed by wine. 😉
Favorite drink as of late is a Martini. I had a key lime martini last weekend and it was relish! On the healthier side I put a fruity tea bag in water while I work. Plastic drinkware isn’t allowed in our home.
I’ll forgo the contest since I live in Hawaii and I’ve found many people/businesses have a thing about shipping here. That said, I’m all for using glass instead of plastic and living where I do it’s an even bigger deal. Plastic bags were banned a couple of years ago and recycling is the norm for most people I know.
Marquita, if your name comes up, you’re getting a bottle! 🙂
WHOA – it survived the crash! This caught my attention. Perfect for my busy & active family. WATER is actually my favorite & I’m an Aquarius. 😉 It’s our anniversary on 17th – might be a luck charm for winning my first pair of Ello! *Fingers crossed*
My favorite drink is water. It was rootbeer but I don’t want all those calories.
Ice water with lemon is my drink of choice.
I love green tea with lemon
Ice cold water with lemon, ice tea, coffee, and of course wine!
Love drinking green tea in the mornings, a Zulu glass bottle would keep my drink even more colder!
I drink plain old water all day long…and love it! I start with coffee and end with wine with water in between…lol!
My favorite beverage is Water, Which I drink all day at work! Margarita’s on the weekend ♡
Ice cold lemonade!
SO switching over to Ello – have been looking for a glass type of bottle to take to the gym, SCORE! Gracias chica.
PS – my favorite drink besides water is tequila, but they kind of frown upon tequila shots in the gym…
